Where does the name Hudson come from?
You’d be forgiven for thinking that Hudson is named after a person. In fact, it’s an acronym, which is short for Hosted Uniform Digital Systems ONline. So what does that mean? Put simply, this is the type of system that our students use on a day-to-day basis to access their courses. We run many different types of hosted online systems to deliver our training. Although slightly different in appearance and complexity, they are all more or less the same. The name Hudson refers to the type of digital systems that are at the core of our business.

What are Live Labs?
Live Labs are in essence simulators for IT learners. They allow an individual to apply their course skills in a software environment that is not harmful to others or equipment. As an example, a learner can configure a network and setup a firewall within such an environment. Live Labs not only provide learners with valued experience, but help to better prepare them for their final exams. All Live Labs come with instructions and tasks. These tasks are related to the material covered in a course. For instance, if a learner undertakes a networking course, s/he will be required to undertake networking related tasks in his or her Live Lab.
In today’s world of complex IT systems and technologies, it is essential that IT professionals and those new to IT are able to demonstrate how to use and understand various systems and software. Using Live Labs can help develop a learner’s practical IT skills in a safe working environment without the need to invest in hardware and software. With the ease and convenience of the Internet, we provide the learner with access to real equipment that brings theory to life and gives them a greater depth of technology understanding. Having Live Lab experience can also give a learner an edge on their CV.
We offer live labs in a range of vendor areas from Microsoft and Cisco, to CompTIA. Environments include MS Server, Exchange, SharePoint, Active Directory, and more.

I notice you have some older courses on your website, but you advertise the fact that you regularly update your course material. Why is this?
The answer is very simple… there are people that still want to learn about older technologies, concepts and methodologies. Why? Well as an example their company may be still be using these older technologies and methodologies. A good example of this is the Windows 7 operating system. Many companies are still using this despite the upgrades. IT personnel that are unfamiliar with this operating system may require training in the software to manage it across the company.

During the exam you will be required to setup a webcam in your office, and will have a set amount of time to do the exam. Once you start, you will be monitored by an examination proctor who will observe you over your web camera to ensure you are not using any devices or other methods to cheat. Once you start, you cannot start over again. Your exam answers will be submitted at the end of the test and you will receive your results instantly or when the proctor tells you.

Payments & Ordering
Do you offer bulk discounts?
Yes, we offer bulk discount plans for businesses. Visit our Business Pricing page for more information on our pricing packages.
What’s the difference between a monthly subscription monthly instalments?
With a monthly subscription, you are not tied into any contracts. You can keep using the course as and when you like. Once you stop paying, your course will stop 4 weeks after your last payment. We only offer this on a select number of courses, mainly our course bundles and IT courses.
With monthly instalments in which you spread the cost of your course over several months, you MUST pay for all of it over the number of months you requested. Failure to do this might mean a call from a debt recovery agency where they will charge you interest and their own costs. This could possibly double or even triple the cost of your course.
Can I get government funding to do one of your courses?
Unfortunately at this moment in time there is no such funding available. All courses must be paid by the student.
Can I pay for my course in installments?
Yes! We offer easy monthly installment plans for most courses. Depending on the course, you can spread the cost of your course over a 4+ month period, interest free. No credit checks or credit agreement required.
- Individual Courses and Certification Bundles: For many of our individual courses, Certification Bundles, and Soft Skills Bundles, you can pay in 4 monthly installments.
- Diplomas: Course fees on our Accredited Diplomas can be spread over a period of up to 12 months.
- Special Offer Exam Bundles: Course fees on our Exam Bundles can be spread over 4-6 months. However, you will not be able to sit your exams until your full balance is paid.
